I am a linguist specializing in discourse, sociolinguistics, and linguistic anthropology. After receiving my Ph.D. in Linguistics from University of California, Santa Barbara, I taught at Northern Arizona University and University of Macau. I am now working at the Department of English Language and Literature of the National University of Singapore.

– Language in the media, representation of discourse
– Language use in interaction, conversation analysis
